As you’d expect from the BARC Marshals Team, each season we make volunteering for over 150 BARC events quick and easy.
So, to confirm your availability for our race meetings at circuits nationwide, including Croft, Thruxton, Donington Park, Silverstone, Snetterton and Brands Hatch, plus our hillclimbs and Sprints, BARC’s dedicated Online Volunteering System is here to help.
New users need to Register as a Marshal by contacting Josh Bennett, BARC’s Volunteer Manager. And remember, you do not need to be a BARC Member to benefit from our online volunteering system, but we’ll be delighted if you decide to join us. Once you’ve completed and submitted the online form, a username and password will be sent to the email address you provided. This will allow you to Login and volunteer for any of the events we have available. You’ll also be able to amend your password and user profile.
Unable to Attend?
These days life seems to be increasingly busy and we fully appreciate that work and family commitments often change. So, if you find that you are unable to attend an event, our online volunteering system allows you to update your availability until fourteen-days before the scheduled date. Alternatively, simply call Josh Bennett on 01264 882 210 between 09:00 and 17:00 Monday to Friday, or email jbennett@barc.net if you prefer.
Event Tickets, Timetables & Final Instructions
Once your availability is confirmed, Josh will manage the information you’ll need. If a printed ticket is required, she’ll post this to you ten days before an event. However, with many circuits migrating to digital booking systems, tickets will increasingly be sent by email, requiring access to a printer.
Whatever BARC event you volunteer for, we will always be pleased to accept your support. So, if you haven’t received a ticket from Josh five working days before an event, please let him know by phone or email. The only exceptions to this policy are Goodwood Revival and Goodwood Festival of Speed. Due to the popularity of these meetings in proportion to available capacity, we will let you know if your volunteering request has been accepted well in advance of each event.
To minimise impact on the environment, BARC Marshals Team no longer provides printed copies of event timetables or Final Instructions. This also allows us to focus more financial resources on our volunteers. Instead, Josh now publishes these as part of our online Events Calendar, allowing you to download a copy to your computer, tablet or smartphone.
For marshals, these Final Instructions provide essential information, including the location of marshal’s sign-on and the time you will be expected to attend. They also contain helpful contact details, especially if you need to let us know that you’re unable to attend on the day.
Thank You For Your Support!
BARC is continually grateful for the help and support volunteers provide, allowing us to deliver the most comprehensive programme of motorsport in the UK. In return, our Marshals Benefits have been developed to demonstrate the club’s unrelenting appreciation.
As part of the BARC Marshals Team, you will also be registered as a Motor Sports Association marshal, providing access to events outside of BARC’s Championship portfolio. So, if you would like to attend any non-BARC event, simply speak to one of our Chief Marshals. They will be pleased to provide details of how to volunteer.
